Formal Appraisal Report

Required for Estate Tax, Charitable Donation and Insurance scheduling. Minimum $650 for summary reports (insurance scheduling, sales advisory, estate planning) and minimum $750 for self-contained reports (charitable donation, estate tax.)

Insurance: When seeking insurance coverage, insurance companies generally require documentation of the replacement value of the client's collection. In view of the recent volatility of the art market, appraisals should be updated every three to five years to ensure that the valuation stays consistent with changing market conditions.

Damage and Loss Claims: These types of appraisals identify the value of the damaged or lost property to facilitate claim settlements and disputes.

Estate Planning and Taxation: These types of appraisals clarify questions of property value, distribution or de-accessioning of property, and assists financial planners, attorneys and related professionals in establishing a client's net worth as a basis for estate planning. All appraisals for estate taxation must meet IRS standards and requirements.

Charitable Donations: The Internal Revenue Service requires a formal appraisal determining Fair Market Value if the claimed deduction for one or more like items of donated property is more than $5,000. All appraisals of charitable donations must meet IRS standards and requirements.

Equitable Division: These types of appraisals clarify questions of property value and distribution of property, and assist attorneys and related professionals in establishing a client's net worth as a basis for equitable division in cases of divorce, inheritance, bankruptcy or business liquidation.

Includes on-site inspection, documentation of property, and market research.

Market Report

For those interested in identifying their property and having a general idea of what similar properties are currently selling for. Includes inspection and identification of the property, a broad overview of the market, a two-three page written summary and verbal consultation on our findings.

Consultation

We are glad to provide complimentary telephone consultations. For larger collections we offer on-site preliminary inspection of the property to determine an appraisal or professional opinion of value is warranted. The consultation fee is based on an hourly rate that may be credited to the final appraisal or professional opinion of value fee.
